Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare Announcement: "Regarding the Viewing of Health Checkup Result Data by Newly Insured Persons Due to System Design Error"
At the end of last December, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announced that, there were cases in which, due to an error in a system modification under its jurisdiction, the health checkup results of the previously insured persons under the previously-belonged Health Insurance Society (the previous Health Insurance Society) at their 40 years old or under, were viewed by the current Health Insurance Society without the persons themselves’ prior consent.
Regarding this announcement, we would like to inform you that our Health Insurance Society is also included in the above-mentioned previous Health Insurance Society. However, the cases that may affect are with the persons before 40 years old or under, who lost their eligibility in our Health Insurance Society (who changed jobs) and does not affect the persons currently enrolled in our Health Insurance Society.
Furthermore, in these cases, the entities who viewed the health checkup result data before 40 years old or under were the Health Insurance Societies (excluding our Health Insurance Society), and not any other third parties viewed the data. Moreover, these data have already been deleted, so they will not be accessible to any third parties newly.
