Protection of personal information

Fundamental policy on the protection of personal information (Privacy Policy)

Recently, the Bosch Health Insurance Recently, the Bosch Health Insurance Society (hereinafter referred to as “the Society”) handles large volumes of personal information concerning customers and employees as part of its business operations (incl. processing application for and payment of insurance benefits, consultation services, opening of various classes, operation of clinics, various health checkups and examinations). The Society, lest the retained vital personal information of its customers and employees should be neither leaked nor altered due to unauthorized access or operational errors, shall implement following measures necessary to ensure the security such information. These measures will, not only increase customers` satisfaction and trust, but also enable the Society to be the workplace where employees can work with greater peace of mind. Thus, the Society will protect personal information under the philosophy of respecting the personalities.

  • Whenever the Society obtains "personal information and specific personal information including individual numbers" (hereinafter referred to as "personal information"), it shall notify the person concerned of the purpose of use and obtain personal information within the necessary range. Moreover, the use of obtained personal information shall be limited to necessary purpose range and such information shall not be rovided to any third parties.
  • The Society, in addition to establishing standards for the appropriate handling of personal information and rules on the operation thereof, shall strictly comply with laws and ordinances concerning the protection of personal information, regulations, national guidelines and norms.
  • The Society shall establish codes of conduct and specific rules on how to prevent cases such as unauthorized access to, loss of, damage to, unauthorized alteration of, or leakage of personal information. The security of personal information shall then be managed by these codes and rules.
  • The Society shall accept inquiries (via the contacts noted below) on matters such as the Society's privacy policy.
  • If the Society receives an inquiry and a complaint from the person concerned or receives a request for disclosure, correction, deletion, or cessation of use of personal information, it shall respond in accordance with all laws and regulations (incl. the National Health Insurance Act) and in abidance with its personal information protection management system.
  • The Society shall revise its Fundamental Policy and its personal information protection management system in response to the establishment, amendment, or abolition of relevant laws and regulations or other changes in circumstances, or when a change is considered necessary as a result of a periodic audit conducted to ensure that continual improvements are made.
